Natural Forces, in cooperation with TransAlta, developed the first wind energy facility in New Brunswick. Located on Crown land near the Prosser Brook area, construction of the facility began in the spring of 2008 and was completed by December 2008.

This facility represents an investment of $170 Million by the Joint Venture between Natural Forces and TransAlta, and will produce approximately 280,000 megawatt hours annually. This renewable resource will result in enough energy to reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 195,000 tonnes per year.

This is only the first phase of the Kent Hills.

The eighteen-turbine expansion of the Kent Hills Wind Facility is located just south of the first phase of the project. The expansion is comprised of eighteen 3 MW wind turbines.

Natural Forces and TransAlta worked with local firms for the construction and will continue to work with them on the ongoing operation of the Kent Hills Wind Facility providing long-term economic benefits to the region.

The $100 million facility is expected to provide 160,000 megawatt hours of energy per year, which would meet the needs of approximately 9,000 average New Brunswick homes.
